PROTECT THE BRISTOW BRICK-TACO TIME BUILDING

SAVE THE HISTORIC ELEMENTS OF THE 1866 BRISTOW BRICK BUILDING UNDER THE TACO TIME FACADE

Yesterday, September 16th, the DNA heard a presentation on a possible redevelopment of the Taco Time building.

You would also be interested in knowing that under that Taco Time facade, on the part of the building nearest Broadway, there remains significant portions of the original building there, the 1866 Bristow Brick, first brick building in Lane County. Some later additions also have architectural significance.

Our goal is not to hinder possible redevelopment of that site, but rather to see that whatever portions of our heritage which remain can be preserved to add lustre to our cultural experience at Kesey Square in downtown Eugene.

To see an article and historic photos of the changes here, check out my article from Feb. 11, Eugene Weekly. I'd be happy to answer any questions.
